In my semi-autobiographical middle grade novel, MY EMBARRASSING LIFE, Lexie and her best friend Sharon get trapped in the hall by Mark Stevens…who discovers their embarrassing secret and tells the whole class. Yikes! Then Lexie gets troubling news from home, and she starts to write a play called, MY EMBARRASSING LIFE, an exaggerated vignette of her life. As Lexie’s play helps her cope, she discovers hidden talents, and unexpected friendships. Most importantly, Lexie works on the confidence to stand up for what she really wants.
